Wax Seal Kit
3d printed and plywood kit to house wax seal tools and materials.
Personal Design projects. Back before we were designers they were just projects. Making or dreaming of items we wanted, needed, or thought would make life better.
This one started as a christmas project for my significant other. The present was supposed to be comprised of the major components for creating wax seals on letters.

Once all the pieces arrived it became apparent they shouldn’t just be thrown in the drawer together. They needed a box. This should have been able to be bought as a kit in a beautiful self contained box.
Components were modeled in Fusion 360 and then the kit was designed around them.
Adding the wax seal onto to the wood top was a last minute decision. It adds a nice nice finishing touch.
I included a lighter in the kit as the main heat source for melting the wax. If I redid it I would also include a tea candle as holding the lighter on long enough to melt the wax is a little hard on your thumb.
Time will tell how well the kit works as a whole. As of now I am considering it a success and we find great joy from the beauty and function of the kit
